Creamy onion chicken is a delightful dish that combines tender chicken with onion-infused cream sauce.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
How to prepare
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter and sliced onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are caramelized and golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional minute.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir in dried thyme and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Return chicken breasts to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for 8-10 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
