Soufflés Special for occasions

ingredients

*eggs,

*flavorings (such as chocolate or cheese)

*sugar (for sweet soufflés)

*flour or cornstarch (for stabilizing)

How to prepare

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to the temperature specified in your recipe, usually around 375°F to 400°F (190°C to 200°C)

Prepare Ramekins

Grease the ramekins with butter and coat with sugar (for sweet soufflés) or breadcrumbs (for savory soufflés) to help the soufflés rise evenly

Make Base Mixture

Prepare the base mixture by combining egg yolks, flavorings, and any other ingredients called for in your recipe. This creates the flavor and structure of the soufflé

Whip Egg Whites

In a separate bowl, whip egg whites until stiff peaks form. This adds air to the mixture and helps the soufflé rise

Fold Ingredients

Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the base mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix and deflate the egg whites

Fill Ramekins

Spoon the mixture into the prepared ramekins, filling them almost to the top

Bake

Place the ramekins in the preheated oven and bake until the soufflés are puffed and golden brown on top, usually around 12 to 15 minutes for smaller soufflés and 20 to 25 minutes for larger ones
